I haven't. Though, if I'm honest, it's causing me to wonder whether the offshore contract designer I use will continue to be justified in the long-term, cost-wise, as AI will clearly move into the design space.
Even though my designer is relatively inexperienced, he's very talented. But the question for me, as a solopreneur paying all expenses out of pocket, is whether he's 100x better per month (which is literally the cost difference between him and an AI).
I constantly ask myself if there is anything that I am better than AI. I copy and paste Julie Zhuo’s post that she published two months ago. It keeps me thinking.
“What happens when AI has better taste than you?
In interviewing founders with taste, I sat down with Ivan Zhao of Notion to discuss the above.
Ivan's framework on human value, which I love, comes down to:
1. Capabilities — skills and knowledge that we possess.
2. Taste — values and preferences.
3. Agency — will and drive.
We can all agree that AI is increasingly beating humans at #1.
The current conventional wisdom is that "great" taste is the last bastion of human dominance.
But what is "great" taste, really, than superior prediction based on deep context for what a group of other humans will love?
"Great" taste is a social construct. And it's not a leap to think AI will get better and better at this until it surpasses most of us.
Which leaves the real last bastion of human value: *actual* agency, the human will to act.
Not "agency" in the way we use "agentic AIs", which are still directed by human will; but the desire and act of moving the hand itself towards some purpose.
This is the thing that can't be replicated.”
Her perspective is so sharp that I’m not sure how one can even be trained to think that way.
But this is exactly my point - your choice of investing in a designer vs. AI is itself an act of agency, a decision about what kind of value you want to create and how.
Amazing article, Thank you for writing this
Really liked the idea of one AI doing the reasoning and then creating the prompt for the other AI that is better at implementing! Awesome 👏
Very useful! Have you ever heard of or used Figma MCP ? I just saw some demos which spark my interest to test more. 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠

How much does it cost you in AI bills monthly?
At the moment, $240 a month.
